Recent information

Dear participants of ICMMES-2016,

only a couple of days to go! We're looking forward to the thirteenth ICMMES conference very much. Here's a quick summary of the most important program items. We'll also provide detailed information on the conference web page, so please also check http://www.icmmes.org.

Conference Program

Approximately 100 talks and 20 poster contributions were submitted and compiled into the conference program. The program also contains four short course presentations on the first day of the conference and four invited talks. The prefinal list of sessions and talks can be found here: https://www.conftool.net/icmmes2016/sessions.php We still expect minor changes, so please check the program during the conference week. The final conference program of each day will also be displayed on site. The time slot for each talk is 15 minutes, including questions. Speakers will be asked to upload their presentations to the conference laptop before their session. On Tuesday evening, right after the conference presentations, we'll have the 90 minutes poster session. During the session, food and drinks will be served. The posters can be put up on Tuesday during the day, maximum poster size is A0 (841 x 1189 mm, 33.1 x 46.8 in).

Public Transport

Each participant will receive a free ticket for Hamburg public transport (HVV). The ticket is valid from Sunday 17 through Saturday 23 and includes free transfer by suburban railway (S-Bahn), underground railway (U-Bahn), bus and the harbor ferries. It can also be used for traveling from the airport to Hamburg downtown and back within the above-mentioned period. You'll receive the personalized PDF ticket later today or tomorrow (E-mail subject: "Ihre Fahrkarte im Onlineshop für Firmen"). Please make sure to carry a valid ID when using the ticket.

Social Program

On Monday evening, we'll have a non-official welcome reception (self-pay), for those who are already in town and are interested. After a quick get-together at The Rilano, we'll walk to the dinner location. For those who do not stay at The Rilano, it might be more convenient to come to the dinner location directly, as the restaurant is only a five minute walk from the 62 ferry line. Please join us at the Rilano (~6:30pm) or at the restaurant (~7pm).

For Wednesday evening, we've organized four different guided tours through Hamburg downtown. They're also listed in ConfTool. We'll leave The Rilano at 6.30pm by ferry. Please register for one of the tours no later than Tuesday evening. The participant lists for the registration will be hung up near the registration desk on site. Each participant will receive a dinner pack - please let us know if you have special dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, ...). The number of participants is limited to 30 for each tour.

On Thursday night, the official conference banquet is held. We'll be picked up at The Rilano by two boats for a 90 minutes harbor trip. We'll start at The Rilano at 6:30pm. The dinner itself then will take place at the Kaispeicher Altona, starting at 8pm. Please note that the dinner is open for registered conference participants and registered accompanying persons only. There's a limited number of additional tickets available for purchase at the registration desk.

The conference will be closed on early Friday afternoon. During the ceremony, the ICMMES awards will be given.

Please do not hesitate to contact us in case you have any further questions.

We're looking forward to seeing all of you in Hamburg very soon!

Yours sincerely,

Christian F. Janßen and the ELBE-Team
